"Interpretable and Actionable Data Science"
So far, data science techniques have been immensely instrumental in knowledge discovery once data has been captured. However, we cannot treat data in a vacuum— it exists in an ecosystem comprised of business practices, regulations and data collection processes. All of these factors need to be taken into context when inferring insights from any given data. Motivated by this idea, the proposed body of work takes into context the ecosystem from where the data originates, and the insights subsequently are to be applied to. We demonstrate these concepts with use-cases in the insurance sector, online audience engagement, communication networks and material science.
