Flynn Receives IEEE Golden Core Award

Patrick J. Flynn, professor of computer science and engineering and concurrent professor of electrical engineering at the University of Notre Dame, has been named a recipient of the IEEE Computer Society Golden Core Award, which recognizes society members for their long-standing contributions and outstanding service.

A faculty member since 2001, Flynn’s interests include computer vision, biometrics, pattern recognition, computer graphics and scientific visualization and mobile application development. Flynn, an IEEE fellow, is a fellow of the International Association for Pattern Recognition, a distinguished scientist of the Association for Computing Machinery, and a  member of the American Society for Engineering Education
