Dronology UAV System Demo at IDEA Week

IDEA Week 2018

CSE students and faculty will be prototyping their Dronology UAV system with the South Bend Fire Department’s river rescue squad at Century Island (behind the Century Center) in downtown South Bend this Tuesday at4.00pm. Drones will be flying and firemen will conduct a ‘fake’ rescue on the river. Thanks to CSE students Patrick Falvey, Michelle Galbavy, James Holland, Joshua Huseman, and Quinlan McWilliams, who have played key roles in developing Dronology and will be helping with the demo. Nathaniel Hanson and Zachary Kousens will also showcase the early phase of their AED delivery project. Please contact Professor Jane Cleland-Huang (JaneClelandHuang@nd.edu), Michael Vierhauser (mvierhau@nd.edu), Sean Bayley (sbayley@nd.edu), or Professor Greg Madey (gmadey@nd.edu)  if you want to learn more about our Dronology project.

Free public transportation the the Century Center is available to students via the Transpo buses (show your ND student ID card). Students should take the inbound 7 bus toward South Street Station. The closest bus stop to the Century Center is right across the street - Dr. MLK Jr Blvd & Washington St. To get back to Notre Dame, students should take the outbound 7 which will depart Dr. MLK Jr Blvd & Washington St at :10 and :40 of every hour.
