The CSE department at Notre Dame just completed the first summer of the DISC Data Intensive Scientific Computing REU program. Twelve undergraduate students came to ND from around the country and worked on projects encompassing physics, astronomy, bioinformatics, network sciences, molecular dynamics, and data visualization with faculty at Notre Dame. The DISC program is led by professors Douglas Thain (CSE), Kevin Lannon (Physics), Paul Brenner (CRC), and Michael Pfrender (Biology).
