Areas of Interest
Tingyu Cheng is leading the Internet of Matter (IoM) lab. His research bridges human-computing interaction, sustainable computing and soft robotics with a focus on seamlessly embedding scalable and sustainable sensors and actuators into our everyday environment. His work has been published in premier venues across HCI, robotics, and materials science, including CHI, UIST, Science Advances, and Advanced Intelligent Systems. His research direction includes electronic yarn, printed electronics across scales, and sustainable soft robots. His research has been recognized by leading media platforms such as Fast Company, Core 77, Ars Electronica, and Dezeen and also supported by NSF, Accenture and Meta.
